Backlink packages price: setting three shelf labels from $1 to $500 rows
Clients prefer a label to a spreadsheet. Here is how to turn a catalogue of single links into three labels without inventing prices the catalogue cannot back up.
Three labels, one catalogue (example bands)
| Label | Row cost to you (example) | What the label means to the client | Typical use |
|---|---|---|---|
| Entry | $1 to $25 | Supporting links, smaller sites | Local services, new pages |
| Mid | $25 to $120 | Stronger sites with real traffic | Core service or category pages |
| Top | $120 and up, to about $500 | Highest authority donors in the niche | One flagship page, handled with care |
How the labels get their prices
Start from cost. Our price per row scales with the donor's authority, traffic and niche, from $1 up to about $500, and that is the only price fact you may build on. The rest is your decision. See our worked $100 and $1,000 bundles for the arithmetic done in full.
Add your hours first. Then add a margin you can defend aloud, say 40 percent on stock for a small account and less on large ones. A client who sees one number can compare it with an agency quote in a minute, and that is the point of a label.
Some resellers ask about tiered link building, where a second layer of links points at the pages that carry the first. We sell individual placements and nothing else, so what you do with layers is your own risk. Think twice. For a small retainer we would skip the second layer and spend the same money on one more good row.
Finally, test the labels on one client before you publish them. A test order of one Entry row will show you how long delivery really takes, and whether your wording on the quote matched what the client saw in the end.
Our call
Publish three labels, never a long menu
Two choices feel generous and five feel confusing. Three labels let a client say yes without a call, and they let you swap the rows inside a label when a donor drops out.
- Never promise the same donor twice.
- Keep the label's rule in one line: row cost band plus count.
- Re-price once a quarter, not per client.
Pricing questions we hear most
What should a backlink packages price look like to a client?
One number per label with a count of placements and a delivery window, such as eight placements in about two weeks. Keep the donor list internal if you must, but share live URLs afterwards. Clients pay for clarity as much as for links.
Can I mark up the catalogue price?
The catalogue price is your cost. What you charge your own client is your business decision, and we do not set it. Just make sure you can show the work done and keep a record of each order.
Is there a bulk discount in the catalogue?
The product facts we hold describe pay-as-you-go pricing from $1 per link, with no subscription. We do not state a volume discount, so do not build one into a quote.
What if the client wants a monthly price?
Quote a monthly allowance and spend it as you go. Our side has no subscription, so you carry the billing cycle. Top up the balance in the dashboard when the client pays, not before.
How do I compare my price with Ahrefs-based agencies?
Compare the unit, not the headline. Ask how many placements, on what kind of sites, what the donor metrics are and when links go live. Then price your bundle by the same unit.
